I threw a practice Hula Popper outside..on the lawn..I thought it lacked the umph ...feels like a decent pitching rod though..I have to let my boat cure for 24 hours...{ Will be ready tomorrow evening}If the weather cooperates I'll cast it for a while with a crankbait...and then catch a shoreline fish to see how it sets the hook.
Got a big backlash as well..and only half the distance..yikes..but it is a spinnerbait/worm rod..I will try pitching with it tomorrow..My Ugly Stick cast a mile...no kidding..it zings those cranks out there.
