RE: A little slow in Illinois
I don' t know what your deer are smoking, but I' ve seen a lot of activity in JoDaviess county this past weekend.
Sat night heard 2 bucks grunting and chasing does, rattled in a nice buck, looked to be about a 130-140 class 8 pt, and then watched a 140-145 class 9 pt follow a doe 60 yards from my stand and make at least 4 rubs. The guys I was hunting with also saw a couple smaller bucks running does back and forth by their stands as well.
Sunday it rained all day but my dad saw what he assured me was a 190-200 class 10 pointer. He guestimated 30" + spread and 20" + G2s. He said the thing just looked like an elk. We walked to where he saw the buck and the tracks honestly look like they were made by a cow! This deer has to be pushing 350 lbs without a problem, if not more.
