What I frequently do is try a couple locator calls,like
Crow,owl, Canada goose. If none of them work---
Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't,
Then I'll try a couple hen yelps and wait a bit
In case a Tom is coming in quiet. With all
Calling I start not real loud and then up the
Volume if at first no response.
