Myadvice is to be sure to buy a scope model that has a reputation for being rugged. The 338 Win. Mag. has a spiffy recoil and a lesser scope will not likely hold up for long. I would avoid any of the "economy" scopes regardless of maker and all of the "off brands". The inexpensive scopes are inexpensive for reasons.
You missed his post a couple above you saying he just bought a Leupold!
