Most Burris scopes are made in the Philippines now. I think they have been for the last decade or so. I bought a full field II that had made in the US on it and then about 2 years later bought the very same scope and it had made in the Philippines. I think the only scopes made here are their high end scopes like the Black Diamond, Euro Diamond, and their tactical scopes.
The one I had that was made in the Philippines had to be shipped back to Burris due to the cross hair being canted when mounted on my rifle. They still have their great customer service and like you they had a new scope mailed to me within 2 weeks from the time I mailed it off I think.
If they make a higher end scope than their Monarch Titanium, they don't list it!! After enduring this saga, I have heard from others having the same problem and they are going to other companys because of it as well.
