I live in MD right on the border of PA, from my experience the core of the rut starts around the second week of November. I prefer to hunt the week before that when the bucks are cruising and chasing, the deer are very responsive to grunting and rattling during this time. Looking at the weather forcast though we are looking at daytime temps in the low 70' s for the next week and a half this may slow down the all day activity that you usually experience with the rut, i' m hoping they are wrong and we end up getting some colder weather.
