As much as I might dislike a coyote or any vermin for that matter, I hate to see them get sick like that. Sick or crippled animals just bother me for some reason. What other animals can catch that disease?

One bow season I was in my tree and in walked a nice fat doe. My freezer was empty. And I was about to harvest her (for animal lovers that means kill her). And then in walked a much smaller doe with a bad back leg. I suspect she'd been car hit. And the way she was limping, I knew she'd by coyote or wolf dinner. But instead of shooting the large doe, I shot the smaller injured one. It was one of the few times I actually felt good, about killing a deer. I got less meat and had to throw a hind quarter away basically.. but I enjoyed that bow deer a lot.
