I wondered the same thing. My solution was to change from a 45 caliber bullet to the 44 caliber bullet so to use the thicker green sabot. It seemed to me the thick sabot could handle the transition from tight barrel to loose barrel to tight barrel without causing excessive pressure on the barrel. I guess time will tell. This rifle will be my back up for our muzzle loader season this year, and as such shouldn't be shot too awful many times.
But......................i was just wondering how it would do at 300 yard. It should be set aside,...................................i may have to keep shooting it some more.
