Pic 5 Cut top bone and bottom bone out with scissors.
Pic 6 After removing as much meat as possible with a knife, this is what the front of the fan should look like.
Pic 7 This is what the back of the fan should look like. Make sure you cut all the bones out.
Pic 8 It's ready to be pinned to dry. Rub borax on base of fan. Pin the two primary tail feathers down on a piece of cardboard. Put some more borax on the fan after it has been pinned down. If done properly, the fan will take no more tha two weeks to dry. Keep the fan inside if possible where it will be dry. It will not smell if you take off enough meat and bone. DO NOT let maggots clean it for you. You will have a smelly mess that will be ruined.
