These are cleared lanes around the public/private borders in many places there. Walk these lanes and look for sandy clear old field type areas with tom tracks. They are often on the highest elevation. Once you find one of these spots set up a decoy and sit tight, calling every 30 minutes. The late season birds will often come in silent. I have been using a blind more often late season for this type hunting. It has a few advantages: Better protection from ticks which will be out with warmer weather; Less likely to get spotted moving by a silently approaching tom; Protection should it rain.
