Okay guys, don' t worry, I ain' t giving up without a fight
I have been leaving all the calls and scents at home lately. Towards the beginning of season, the bucks were chasing does, but, that seemed to have stopped, probablly due to the weather getting so much warmer.
The oak tree with all the scrapes below it is probablly going to be where I focus on. There is a GREAT place to sit and watch over that tree. There are a bunch of grown up golden rods in a single patch that are about 18 yards from the tree. They are probablly about 5 feet tall and are so thick that when sitting down in them, a deer has no chance of seeing any outline. I was in there last week and had a small 3 point (the last deer I saw) walk past me at just a few yards and he stood around those scrapes for probablly close to half and hour. He never had any clue I was there.
I am really hoping that in the next week and a half or two weeks that the temps will drop down again and the deer activity will pick up. I guess I won' t know unless I am out there
