Wow! That' s a beautiful bull dude. My buddies dad used to own a lodge way back when around Ear Falls. They hunted bear and moose as well as fishing. It burned down when we were kids. Probably around the mid-70s I guess. He always said there were alot of moose around there.
Sounds like a great hunt.

We didn' t have any luck this year. We were in a new area so it took a few days just figure out what was going on.
We did have plenty of excitement though. On two seperate evenings we had bulls working really well only to have them hang up just out of sight until we lost light.
Frustrating but exciting. It was a big flooded out willow flat and was it ever cool to hear them splashing towards us grunting and thrashing willows. Each time it would take a few steps, grunting like crazy and then stop. We would let out a soft cow call or a bull grunt and rake the willows with a paddle blade and it would start our way again. They were the deepest sounding bull grunts I' ve every heard so it must have been a good bull.
Both times we figured if we snuck out of there that they would be in the area in the morning but each time, no dice. The one night as we paddled silently away the bull could be heard grunting for about 20 minutes. Man, he sounded mad. It was really cool to hear and hard to leave.

Oh well, we know were we' ll be next year.
