You have to go through the regular draw and get drawn for a tag. Then you can go on the F&G website in the HMA section to apply and print out your paperwork permission to hunt in that particular HMA. You carry a piece of paperwork with you and one goes in the windshield of your vehicle. Some HMAs actually have a drawing that you have to apply for and if you get drawn for the dates you want then you get paperwork authorizing you to be on the property at that time. There are also Walkin Hunting Areas (WIHAs) throughout the state that don't require you to have anything other than the proper license and tags to hunt a ranch that is listed in the guide for certain animals. There are assigned places you have to park and walk in to hunt and there are no motoized vehicles allowed. They are all signed on the ranch perimeter fencing, so they are pretty easy to find if you have the F&G guide and a decent map.
