Man, that sucks MM. I have not had that happen specifically, but can feel your pain. Once I spotted a doe and worked for about an hour or so to creep into position on her. I finally got a good window about 20 yards from her (as she was in some thick stuff), and "click!" -- light primer strike from my slug gun. I was pissed, but it was for the better because she had two fauns on her. Now I would not take a shot on a doe that produces twins; I would just take one of the twins!

I do the same as MD. Always have two or three primers in the spaces of the recoil pad. And I always, always prime my gun the second I am dressed and am on my way into the woods. I probably wouldn't do that with a bolt gun, but there's no way the hammer on my Omega is going to "accidentally" get kocked.
