I cant speak for Ron but I also use only a MLer for Rifle Season also. I find No Need to use a Rifle, a MLer will get out there and do the Job Nicely to where I need to be. I myself feel a Rifle is Cheating a little, when you can drop a Deer at 500++yds and have them not have a clue, then it just seems a little (Easy) to me. I know you First have to See the Deer and get them in your sights, that's the Hardest part, but if I cant get close enough to put one down with a MLer then Im not doing My Part as a Woodsman.
Now befor anyone Jumps all over Me about saying a Rifle is Unfair, I live in the Country, but there's not many places we can get shots out that far, most of our Shots are 100yds and under, with a longer 125-175yd shot being a exception. I know in other Parts of the Country (Big Open Country) a Rifle is needed where you need to take them Long Shots, Im Perfectly Fine with that. But even in that situation as much as I love to use a MLer I'd still use it there.
I guess it all boils down to self satisfaction for me, I just feel better inside knowing I did it with a MLer.
