As janesburg mentioned, try new batteries. Test the batteries you were using with a digital meter. When any one battery drops to 1.0 to 1.2 volt, trail cameras will not function properly, or not at all. Even new batteries, fresh out of the package may have a faulty one. Some of the stores sell batteries rated at 1.2 volt. Don't waste your money on these. 1.2 volt rechargeable (Energizer) will test 1.2 to 1.28 out of the package and can be bumped up to 1.38 to 1.44 volt. These are a slow drain battery, but you do not have the extra voltage that a 1.5 has to start with. I am using Pure Energy rechargeables that show 1.5 volt on the package and testing are found to be 1.55 volt. These batteries can be bumped up to 1.6 plus volts. These batteries are available at most WalMarts.
Batteries used in colder weather will not put out the full voltage.
Good luck.
