Hunters up there where I have been before drive all day long. Here in Arkansas driving isn't a popular way to hunt at least where I'm at. My cousin is off all week and he says were gonna do a bunch of driving. I hope the first day I get to do some stand hunting. Driving is gonna be a new experience for me.
Yeah, guys in that part of Ohio seem to LOVE drives. My advice, if you are able to sit in a stand for the first day of the season, it can be very productive. You tend to have an army of other guys pushing the deer around doing all the work for you

. All you have to do is wait for the deer to run past. I've gotten several this way.
Drives are fun, though I haven't found them to be as productive. We usually put on a few drives, but don't do it all day long. One thing I've found is that it is sometimes better to do a "silent" drive. -You have a couple posters on the corners of the far end of the piece you are going to drive, then the drivers go through but go slowly and without yelling or making much noise. This still pushes the deer, but they tend to not be as panicky- walking and not running if you get my drift. Makes for an easier shot for the posters. Plus, this way sometimes the drivers get a shot at one too....
