Several years? You must not shoot much. I use them for my centerfires too, but I'm on my 3rd package of 2 yards in this past year, and I'm about done with it. That said, I do shoot fairly often.

So far that's what I do I buy the 2 yard packs of flannel at Walmart and cut them up. It's the cheapest I've found so far. I normally get white, but One time they had a light yellow on sale and I bought it, and this past time they had pink on clearance so I picked up a thing of it to use. The light yellow worked fine, so I don't see any reason the pink wont. If one of these isn't on sale though I use white.

I've also heard of using t-shirts and I suspect this is cheaper, but I've just never tried it.
