Works great as a post cleaning water displacer. Then wipe away the excess.

Not really suited for BP but may work with some of the subs. Water based solvent like Butch's Bore Shine, T/C No. 13 or moose milk dissolve BP fouling.

bore butter
I never found grease type lubes (crisco and bore butter) to be very good for PRB or bore protection, but OK for conicals (minnie and maxi style).
