Thanks Chuck, yeah that's one of the awesome parts of my lake, I just bought the place last Oct and fished it in Sept before that. The hotter it gets, the better we seem do. It's a river oxbow lake so during the wet season the water fluctuates alot and the color and current messes with the the fish. But with the low water of the dry season it really stabilizes and the fishing is much better. It's really nice to because I'm 1 hour from Pickwick and KY Lake and by this time of year the bassin gets considerably slower (except for some nights).

We caught fish in early November lastyear before deer season opened but after that the lake gets alot colder and muddier. I fished in January after deer season closed and the only thing I could muster a few bites from was crappie. The bass didn't get consistent until later into February. With our record floods this spring mid-April through early-July was pretty much a washout.

Give me a bottom bumper (brush hog, worm, jig etc), a spinnerbait and the occasional crankbait and I'm a HAPPY man!
