Uhhh YEAH!!! Sounds like you paid less than half price. A new A-bolt Medallion 7mag is about a $800-$850 rifle. Depending on what size VX2 you have, that's probably another easy $250-$500 at MSRP. Depending on condition, if yours was hanging in the rack of the typical gunshop around my area I'd expect you to see a $650-$800 price tag on it.

I have 2 A-bolts, a SS Stalker 7mag and a 270 Medallion. They are GREAT guns and traditionally are very accurate. The VX2 is as good a scope as you'll likely ever need also. The whole package should last long enough for your grandkid to hand down.
