I do run the strokes from the muzzle. My routine is to oil a patch with a high quality bore oil. Push a quanity of JB's on one side of the patch and then run that side in the bore for 25 strokes. After those 25 strokes pull the patch flip it and run it again for 25 strokes. Repeat the process four time. Make sure your strokes go from the top to the bottom of the bore.

Running the strokes from the muzzle I use a good range rod and a muzzle protector. As for the the internal crown on the QLA remember that JB's is not a cutting compund it is a polish - you are not putting the QLA in harms way.
