Cams should seal shut and not let that happen in the first place.
If it doesn't then send it back.

I made the mistake a couple years ago of not getting my bottom door all the way closed on my Scoutguard and it got infested. I blew it out with an air compressor and sprayed a paper towel down with Raid and stuck it in a ziplock for a couple days. Sprayed out all the dead ants with a compressor again and waited a couple days to air and dry out.
Has worked 2yrs since with no problems.

Now I use a twist tie to hold the door in place.

My Cudde Captures and Reconyx seal great so I don't have to mess with those.
