Decoys are hit and miss. I've had them up and birds spook from them and I have had them run in and knock them over. Maybe that bird had took a beating from another gobbler and wanted no part of him. It's hard to say, that's why it's hunting and not killing. Bottom line on turkey hunting is when it's right you can't do anything wrong and when it's wrong you can't do anything right.
