Default Cornfields after harvest / Waterhole in field

How long does it take deer to feel comfortable in the fields during daylight hours after the harvest? It was done about a week ago.
I hunt public land( a large island with road access), and they leave a few rows standing here and there. I found a small watering hole(5x6) in one hidden corner of the field, about 40 yards from the nearest treeline, and 1/4 mile from the road but hidden behind a treeline.
I am sure that I am not the only one who has seen it, but I am looking for a place to set up my groundblind to take my son(12) and daughter(14) with me. I was going to set it up in one of the places where they left 5 or 6 rows standing, using the outer rows, and the ones that I cut, to blend in.
Does that sound like a good setup? I just want them to be able to see deer.
