all over I give the rifle a good scrub and coat everything with bore butter , is this good to do when off season storing what do u guys think ? 
It would be my suggestion to not use BB to store with and i would not think coating the whole thing with BB would not be a good way to go either. My suggestion would be to use a quality oil, preferably a synthetic oil for any type lubrication or protection of the metal parts.
BB or the better form T17 or Wonder lube 1000 can be used for some things but lubrication and storage would be marginal...
Just my opinion...
