September 20th at 6:45 pm I took a velvet 3-point on a buddy of mine' s property in Juneau County, WI. I wasn' t going to shoot him, but I' ve always wanted to take a whitetail in velvet.
He string-jumped and took the first arrow through the spine. The second shot got both lungs and ended it quickly. Shot distance was about 10 yards, recovery was length was zero.

October 4th at 7:40 I put a Zwickey through the chest of a button buck in Kendall County, Illinois. He had a pre-existing injury, so I decided to take him out. I wasn' t sure how he' d fare up over the winter. Shot distance was 17 yards. He went about 50 yards and collapsed.
The doe that was leading him turned to see what happened and I put one through her heart and both lungs. She made it less than 20 yards past the button buck and went down. Shot distance on her was 20 yards.
Both deer left heavy bloodtrails.
My 6-year old daughter came out to track the deer, and found them both. She was so happy you' d have thought it was Christmas morning. Me? I was butchering deer most of Sunday. I forgot how much work two of them are in one day, but the venison tacos we had for dinner were great!
