GM how thick is the copper plating that is applied to the lead core.
Also I have been told that a lot of folks like the Ranier bullets in their pistols. But I am thinking they use them at less velocity...
They only ones i shot and attempted to recover were the 50cal 300gr and the plating was thinner than the 50 A&E DG/DC which performed very well for its weight class.
I don't think i ever did much with the Harvester PTs Golds except paper and they shot very well. The 45-300gr appeared to be tough enough but it was always a Harvester exclusive as far as i know.
Some Rainiers are made exclusively for other companies such as the 50-335gr is made for Alexander Arms and it appears to be tough for its weight. Its made for the 50 Beowulf and 1800fps. Sometimes those are available as over stocks at Midway for $27/100.
