Might try washing the clothes in baking soda. I use a 1lb box to a load of my hunting clothes.
Its cheap and effective, and baking soda certainly doesn't leave any residual smells.
Cheapest "no scent" wash technique I know of and if it doesn't work, you've only lost about $.75
