The larger question would be: What do you consider art? Ask 20 people and you will get 20 different answers. In my opinion, the very basics of art are being creative and expressing yourself. Well fly fishing has the creative side I think more than any other. Just the motion of fly casting is a sight. The gazillion options when it comes to fly tying, an art within itself. I think it is getting closer to the sport of fishing myself. A lot more matching the hatch, technique, etc. (in my opinion) than regular fishing. Of course, this is all my opinion (and countless others). I'm sure yours may vary and do many others. Thats why fishing is so great. We don't all do everything the same and that opens the door for always learning something new!
