I have had several of each. Both are excellent calibers. The key to the 7mm/08 is it shoots a 7mm bullet and the 7mm projectial is the most areodynamic of. The 7mm/08 has a little recoil And ammo is not a problem if you plan ahead. The 7mm/08 is just as potent as a 7 mag out to 150-200 yards. No files on 308 I just personaly like the 7mm/08. Jim
