I AM LOOSING A HUNTING PARTNER !!!
Yes everyone, I am loosing a hunting partner. My grandfather. He got me started on hunting at the age of twelve when he took me to my hunters education course, bought me a marlin .22, and took me out squirrel hunting. He went into the hospital 2 and a half weeks ago. I was at a friends house and got the call from my sister that said I needed to get home fast because my grandfather needed to go to the hospital. He lives next to us. I got home and found him. He couldn't move on his own. He had been loosing all of his weight because he couldn't keep food down. Well, we got him to the hospital and the doctors found a tumor in his bowals. They removed it as if it were cancerious, which we found out three days ago that it was. Anyways, he was doing really good, then the doctors put him on solid food and he got sick from it. He must now have all of his "food" injected into a vain in his neck, this will be going on for a month before they progress him back into solids. So he has probablly close to two months in the hospital. When he is out of the hospital, he must go through 8 months of kemo therapy. The nurses told him that he has about 3 years left and if he is lucky 5 years. My grandfather is only 71 years old, and before he got sick, he could out hike anyone. He was in INCREDIBLY good health. I am just tore up about this because he was my favorite person to hunt with. My greatest memories in the woods were spent with this guy. He will more than likely never be able to hunt again.
NEVER take your hunting partners for granted. You never know what can happen. Let them know that you love spending time with them before it is too late.
