Nice new toy. I like the short actions also. I've got 700's in .243 and 7mm-08. Usually find the .243 stuff for about the same price as .270 and .30-06. But, the 7mm-08's usually cost a little more.
How much more recoil do you feel between the .243 & 7-08 ?
I also have the 700 SPS in .243 very accurate and a pleasure to shoot
