Going out in a few moments to see what's doin'...well, I simply decided to take primitive firearms season literally this year. It's not that I'm against in-lines at all, but to me, it's a single shot rifle. Same w/ crossbow, IMO-not purely primitive. Don't get me wrong I am a meat hunter & w/ the exception of some chicken we don't actually buy meat very often at all. If this were true subsistence, I'd certainly hunt w/ every advantage I could. Just a personal choice w/ some now obvious limitations...
Though archery is my favorite season by the end I am ready for a little more range. It would be nice to have an early muzzleloader say a few days prior to regular firearms here in the southern zone as in the 'Dacks, but I can see that becoming just an earlier firearms season unless limited to percussion/flintlock & open sights...
Sabot-scopes are allowed here now. My cougar has a peep which I like alot but I've been hellbent on hanging a tag w/ the other Hawken this year.
I'm a bit stubborn...at times.
