Unless the wind changes I would suggest staying in the dried up creek bed and also if it were me, I' d slip in a little earlier than normal in order to let the woods calm back down. Just make sure you take extra care with your scent control.
I wouldn' t take any round-about way in to the stand that would cause excess noise, that would be defeating the purpose. Just stay in the creek bed and move slow, you should be o.k. Of course, the best scenerio would be waiting untill the wind changes to a southerly direction but if you can' t wait stay low, move slow, and go early.
