The 45cal 300gr PB Plat really isnt that bad with 95gr or less depending on distance and ive got a bunch of them. I keep them as a quick backup bullet for the 45s.
That one has a good SD and just like any other conical it performs good at the correct velocity. Its very accurate too.
My problem is the cost and the inflated numbers CVA boasts from heavy charges when they know its a bad idea to push them that hard. The PR Ultimate 45cal 360gr smokes the 300gr 45cal PB in every way with the right charge and is a tad cheaper.
PR isnt exactly innocent of inflated ballistics either but its hard to imagine a 45cal 360gr hunk of lead not getting the job done at even 1300fps.
Neither IMO is a Premium product and so the price should not reflect that it is one. Ive never seen so many negative reviews from any other true premium priced projectiles and ive never had to mod them to make them perform as advertised either.
As for the OP
I kinda like the newer model Wolf. It fit me better than other similar guns and it is much nicer than older ones. I would suggest charges in the 80-100gr range if it shoots well. I only push one of my "carbines" hard and only because it shoots/kills so well with that load.
I hope you enjoy your Wolf. I really cant see any reason why you wont for its intended purpose. If they had one with a TH stock in 45cal, i would probably have one too.
