B&C Stocks?
I have four B&C stocks for Savage/Stevens rifles. Three are Duramaxx and one is a Carbrlite sporter. All were "drop-in". No problems. I can't imagine what the problem could be with your stock or rifle. Try pulling the magazine box and putting the action in the stock.
