In my neck of the woods it seems to make for great morning hunts after a full moon. I have taken my two best bow buck at this time and early in the morning too!!! They seem to move a lot around then so I get between the feed and bedding and usually have a good morning of seeing deer. I know some who think just the opposite and don' t have the luck I do but it may be different in some areas. My only advice it to get out real early and sit as long as you can (as long as your son will let you). The other advice is, make it as much fun as you can for him so he will enjoy the many years ahead with you and his children. Kudos to you for sharing your hunting time with your child!!!! That is more important than the hunt itself!!!!!!!
