I'll be loading for 257 roberts. 45LC. 9mm, 270Win.

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy equip. should I go new or used. Kit or piece it out. I was thinking of the pro 2000 kit from RCBS.

Can't add much to what has already been posted. I started as a poor college kid loading 40 S&W with a Single Stage Lee Aniv Kit. Came with all the stuff I needed at the time. I loaded with it for many years before I got a progressive. Have a Dillon 550 now and love it, but also started shooting cowboy action shooting. The volume I needed/wanted to reload went from 100 or so a month to 1000 or better a month.

Had I not had a solid foundation with a single stage press I would think a progressive press would be a lot more than most people should do. Even now the wife and kids know when I am reloading on the bench they leave me alone so I can keep the head clear and have a safe time at it managing all the steps at once.
