There is probably more deer in my area then what I know about, but seeing deer this summer has been really spotty.
Even my dentist was telling me about the 10 point that he saw in the state game lands last week while he was trying to train his bird dog.
I would rather hunt pheasants and rabbits and grouse then hunt deer.
Deer season usually involves putting up with a bunch of idiot hunters who only hunts a couple of days per a year. That gets out old rusty and shoots a million shots at my rifle range and maybe gets one or two shots a year at an actual deer. Most times they are hung over and are not safe for being out in the woods in the first place.
When I small game hunt, there are days where I might see one or two or three hunters in 8 hours of hunting and I can shoot my limit - if I am lucky and see that amount of game and go home.
Deer season, when the gun goes bang, the work is just starting.
Mr Deer Hunter sir....Once again, if you have nothing positive to say.... please just don't post on the forum. This is the 4th one like this I've seen.
I'm excited for this season. I was not home in order to get a doe license (due to working in colorado all summer).... SO I'll be focusing only on Bucks, and I've seen a few nice ones around some of our properties. The numbers seem a little higher this year than I've seen in the last five years. Over-all, I'm expecting a great year! Good luck everyone!
