My question is - are you rifle hunting or archery hunting.

The key to hunting is to hunt every day. If it was archery hunting - 3 acres is just fine. If it was rifle hunting, I would worry about shooting something and then having it run onto the neighbors land - once it was wounded.

Your best bet is to make friends with the neighbors. Even if it means buying them a couple of bottles of whiskey or a couple of cases of beer or a nice Thanksgiving turkey or a Christmas ham.

When I worked for the electric company, I made many friends while I was out working and many people invited me to come back any time I wanted to hunt on their land.

I often times took them little presents to ensure that they wouldn't forget about me and to make sure that I was welcome to come back again next year. Last year I had a entire deer turned into beef sticks, bologna, sausage and kielbasa and I gave most of it away.

It never hurts to knock on doors and ask for permission and to share your harvest if you get lucky and to say thank you even if you didn't.

I usually have more places to hunt then days to hunt in.
