What R U talkin about???? R U high??? I suggest U go back and read my post again!!! I agree that a 30.06 is MORE that adequate for elk out to and beyond 500yds...............or maybe better yet go and read every post and see the one I refered to!!!!!! These idiots that think a 270 or 30.06 is the bare minimum for elk have they heads so far up their rectums, they'll never get to smell fresh air!!!! Go back and read there R folks here that say U should not shoot at big at distances over a couple hundred yds!!! and I say that they must never have hunted elk or mulies inthe sagebrush, because most shots R 300/600yds.......As for hunting the desert ...thats all I hunt is high desert/schrub steppe...I have never gotten a elk in the timber!!!!!!
