I prefer the actual Howa to the Vanguard. I bought the Howa with the Hogue overmolded rubber stock in stainless and love it. The rubber stock grips great in wet, cold weather. It doesn't get cold like plastic or wood does either.
Mine is the same except blued instead of stainless.....I really like the overmolded rubber. Mine is a .223 and shoots fine, carrys fine and just plain works.....prairie dogs hate it!
