The only reasons to punch yourself in the face with a string loop is if you tied it incorrectly in the first place (including melted the ends wrong) or didn't change it out when it was worn or you used loop material that is of too small diameter for your release jaws to keep from slipping through.
All of which are your, or your shops, fault and not the fault of the loop.
I bet you melted the ends of the loop material and then flattened them with the side of the lighter??????????
Assuming you aren't one of those people that likes to rest their trigger finger on top of the trigger while drawing the bow and "accidentally" "shot" the bow.
The aluminum loops are absolute crap. Stay away from them.
