The only hope of swapping a hunt in Alaska, would be with a guide,and a guide is required to hunt Mt goat, for nonres. The law is clear no one but a registered or master guide may provide for compensation supplies goods or services to a big game hunter in the field.And a hunt swap would be compensation .Non res are required to be accompanied in the field by an Alaskan licensed guide or an Alaskan resident 19 or older who is within the second degree of kindred. This means he or she ,if not as registered guide, must be your father,mother ,brother ,sister ,son, daughter, spouse, grandparent, grandchild, brother/sister-in-law, father/mother-in-law, stepfather/stepmother, stepsister/stepbrother,stepson/daughter.
Guides are required for nonres to hunt, brown bear, Dall sheep, Mt. goat.
you can hunt on your own for Black bear,Moose, and Caribou,Deer, Elk, even Bison. But be aware many hunts in many areas are restricted to draw tags.
