Cowboy, it's not too hard. You would need a hunter's education certificate from your region. If you have one, then you can just apply online at wildlife.utah.gov. If not, you would need to obtain a hunter's education certificate which typically is a one day class. The deadline to apply for a limited permit (which allows you to hunt from Nov-June) is in Oct. If you do not draw a limited tag, you can then purchase an over-the-counter tag for a couple of units we hunt that have lots of cats. Better hunting in December or January after a fresh snow.
