"Bait" for coyote hunting unsportsmanlike?
This is my first post here on these forums. I am just getting into hunting. I missed the deer tag lotto(*sigh*, I hate AZ), and I think I'm going to try and do some coyote hunting.
A few years back, I was walking back from a friend's house with some hot salmon on a plate. Within 60 seconds I had 3 coyotes following me about 50 feet away. This gives me an idea.
What if I set up a plate of salmon(or other meat with a strong odor) and waited for them to come? Ignoring the fact that other animals will be attracted to the smell as well, is this tactic unfair? Is it unsportsmanlike to do this? We do something similar in fishing, and I was wondering if this was acceptable in hunting.
Thanks!
