My 700 is close to 50 years old and still shoots great. I like the .270, just a neck down 30-06 really. I got one of the camo rigs for my grandson for about $510 at Wal Mart a couple of years ago including tax. Be sure to plan on a quality scope, I would not get one of the combo rifle/scope deals as the scope that came on his rifle is basically crap.
