Of the cartridges you list Id say the -06 as ammunition is cheaper and more readily available.

go with the 30-06 it handles good for short range and long range

If I were to buy a pure deer/hog rifle I would opt for less recoil. It sounds cool having a 7mm, 30-06, 300 win mag etc... However, the reality is the recoil gets old. Plus, you will be more accurate with less recoil and shot placement trumps a big caliber.

If I were you, I would look at 308, 270 or 7mm/08. I would opt for the 308, because it's short throw and has plenty of knock down power with not a lot of recoil. Plus, ammo is all over the place and it's affordable. You can't go wrong with any of the 3. Just my .02 cents.
