A comparison:
Working up a load for a cartridge rifle: Set up scale and press. Load nine cartridges with XX.X grains of powder, seat the bullets with three each at X.XX OAL, X.XY and X.XZ OAL. Load nine more with XX.Y grains of powder and seat them to three different OALs. Load nine more with XX.Z grains of powder and seat them to three different OALs. Go to the range and shoot nine three-shot groups with the various loads to see which performs best.
Working up a load for a muzzle loader: Grab a box of bullets, several packs of different sabots, a powder measure and a canister of powder (or maybe two or three different powders), and head for the range.
